We were due to have a talk and slide show presented by Ross Dicker, but unfortunately he had to cancel at the last minute.
Paul Dixon was first to arrive in Shankill TC to set out the tables and chairs. Michael Coyne arrived soon after on his lovely yellow and blue Suzuki 1050cc V Strom and assisted Paul.
Paul , AKA “Dicko” set himself up and proceeded to educate Michael on the workings of his GPS. During the evening other members availed of his knowledge
John Tannam arrived with the tea/coffee/sugar/milk/& biscuits and set up the kitchen. Ann McDonnald also arrived with some “Goodies” and assisted him.
It was a rainy night so a large attendance was not expected , though almost 30 members did arrive.
Nessa Waldron (Charity coordinator) displayed her clocks, plaques and key rings for sale. These clocks are made specially by John Kane to raise money for the club charity. They would make lovely Christmas gifts. The donation to the charity box totaled €37.65.
Ber Kenny (Secretary) was on hand to answer any queries members might have on the club WhatsApp groups, and there were many. She also had a tips/information sheet available. With emails, Whatsapp, website and social night announcements there is no excuse for members not knowing what’s going on in the club
Stuart McBain kindly brought some current BIKE magazines for anyone wanting a read.
John Dunne (Treasurer) and Martin Carragher (Mem Sec) were busy on the laptop dealing with club finances. To ensure the smooth running of the club’s administration, members attending events where a form is required, eg. Way West Rally, Renewal etc. are asked to please fill it in and send it to the appropriate address.
Teddy Larkin arrived from Wexford on his bike to link up with 3 other members for a 3 day camping trip to complete the club photo points up north.
Jane Cronin (A&C organiser) was busy bouncing her ideas off members. Jane has a full program organised till the end of the year.
The date and location for this year's Way West Rally was announced.
SLIGO PARK HOTEL……14th to 16th November 2025
More details to follow.
Coming close to 9pm members lent a hand to tidy the hall and kitchen leaving it the way we found it.
“A vibrant club in action”.........
Till the next event, stay safe.
Jim.
