MYSTERY 500:

Need a plan B in case of Petrol shortage – if very bad the weekend might be cancelled – suggestion of

car pool – Paul to ring hotel if petrol shortage escalates. 60% of payments made – waiting list of 5

members – there could be private lodges available which Paul will investigate. One member has

booked a B&B 5 km away. There is a campsite within 10 mins walking of the hotel. 29 rooms

booked by the DMTC. Dee to send a payment reminder for weekend on WhatsApp Announcements –

15th April deadline. Andy has completed a route – checkpoints to be decided – 2 hours at each

checkpoint – 10-12 / 11.30-13.30 / 12.30–14.30 - have contact number available for members in

case of emergencies. Maps available at each checkpoint showing a suggested route. Volunteers for

checkpoints = Noel/Paul/Conor/Andy [need 2 more] – will wait nearer the time for extra volunteers.

DMTC Website:

▪ Way West Event to be uploaded on Website after the Mystery 500 – maybe around June.

▪ Membership enquires – all sent to Davide.

▪ Club has a photo goggle account – suggestion to start building albums within this account

and create links to these albums – only committee members can post to these albums. Paul

& Noel to discuss – going forward Noel will upload photos by Events and create albums.

▪ 14 members attending the next Art & Social’s outing to Monto in Dublin so far – Suggestions

for future Arts & Culture outings – GPO basement / Viking Tour/ Leprechaun Museum /

Transport Museum Bangor – Enterprise train / Military Museum / Boris House + Athy

Shackleton Museum

▪ Nicky Pomeroy died 45 years ago – suggestion made that the perpetual trophy to be

presented to Nicky’s sister – Committee has decided that the trophy will be returned to her

directly instead of presentation.

▪ Sponsorship for calendar – Sheridan Hotel - Athlone [3 course meal for 2 people] suggestion

to put up on Website for €50 – if more than one interested voucher will be raffled- also got

€200 donation from Bray in Honda.
