Photo Rally

Launch tonight at the social – Davide has created a Google map for the photo points.

Mystery 500

Weekend is booked and confirmed – The Glen of Aherlow Hotel – this is the Spring Break organised by the DMTC [include this in the Mystery 500 email] – 15th to 17th May. There are two lodges available which can be put on standby if rooms are oversubscribed– 30 rooms in total – 25 have been booked. Prizes in total €250 / €150 / €100 – hotel providing a free room if maximum room numbers of 25 are reached and this could be the 4th prize. Raffle for suite which has been offered free by the hotel. Price is €210 – 2 nights B&B and main dinner on Saturday night – Menu options. Single room is €340. Email to be sent next week – closing date 15th April – full amount to be paid upfront – EFT with name and room required.

Andy has a tentative route drawn up for the Mystery 500 – south of Aherlow - 3 checkpoints to be included – petrol stations are very amenable – 100km between each checkpoint – up to members which way they want to complete the route. Each checkpoint denotes an entry into the prize draw and checkpoints will be open for 2 hours. Members volunteering for checkpoints can ride the route if they want.

Way West

Weekend is booked and confirmed – The Great National Hotel - Ballina - 3k from the town.- deposit will be paid this week - partition will be provided in the ballroom as its quite large.

WhatsApp Groups

Discussion regarding groups – need to be transparent – touring club so all tours where members participate should be transparent on WhatsApp or Website – Information Sheet on WhatsApp to be produced on how to Mute and Remove Groups – make this available at socials.

Website

Noel has been working on the Website in the background based on the free version and now wants to launch the official version which costs €12.50 monthly – need to migrate the older website to the new website – using the same domain. Discussion followed on some issues:

• EVENTS:What events should be available to Members ONLY – make events PUBLIC but only members can subscribe to the Events.

• PHOTOS:Make public as another advertisement for the club

• BLOG:2 Blogs one on Events and two on Social Meetings – make Events Public and Social Meetings Private.

Lots of questions followed and decision made for Noel to pay for the upgrade and give access to Committee Members to look at the new website to get an overall consensus on how the Website should look.

Discussion followed on some website issues:

1. Maybe put the DMTC Logo on the Home Page of the new website and also change the background

   colours as hard to read – DMTC colours are blue – also change the home picture to one of the DMTC

   bikers.

2. Payments will be made to a Wix Account as people can buy directly on the website and then payments

   made to club bank account – a sum-up account on Wix is also available where Noel can accept payments on his phone but it costs 2% which will work for merchandise but not for large amounts such as events or membership.

Decided at this stage as the new website needs further discussion to organise another zoom meeting just concentrating on the website - scheduled for Monday 9th @7pm.
